Background of the Study

In today’s globalized economy, outsourcing logistics has become a common practice for firms looking to optimize their supply chain operations and enhance business performance.

FrieslandCampina WAMCO, a leading producer of dairy products in Nigeria, operates in several regions, including Adamawa State. The company has increasingly relied on outsourcing its logistics operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs. By partnering with experienced logistics service providers, FrieslandCampina WAMCO aims to streamline its supply chain, enhance distribution networks, and meet the growing demand for its products in various regions.

This study will examine the effect of outsourcing logistics on the business performance of FrieslandCampina WAMCO in Adamawa State, focusing on how the company has leveraged third-party logistics to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Statement of the Problem

While outsourcing logistics has proven to be an effective strategy for many companies, there is limited research on the specific effects of logistics outsourcing on business performance in the Nigerian context. FrieslandCampina WAMCO has outsourced logistics to improve its supply chain, but the extent to which this decision has contributed to overall business performance in Adamawa State is not well understood. This study will focus on evaluating the effect of outsourcing logistics on the business performance of FrieslandCampina WAMCO in Adamawa State. Limitations may include difficulties in accessing detailed financial data and external factors such as market dynamics that influence business performance.
